Make Your Own Tasty Celiac Bagels

When you are gluten intolerant, it is not always easy to find interesting and tasty treats to enjoy in. Some are complicated to prepare or require too much time. Well, this recipe is so simple that anyone can make these delicious and popular treats in maybe one hour or so. It's also quite cheap, and requires just a few basic ingredients, including gluten free flour, yeast, sugar and salt.

Although there are many different recipes, this recipe for celiac bagels is particularly simple. So, add two teaspoons of sugar into two cups of warm water, add two teaspoons of dry yeast and two cups of gluten free flour and mix well. Leave it like that for a few minutes, on some warm place. Mix three cups of gluten-free flour and two teaspoons of salt and gradually add to the batter.

If necessary, add some flour to get smooth dough. Cover the dough with a cloth and leave it to stand for ten minutes to rise slightly. Divide the batter into 12 parts. Of each part mold a roller and connect the ends to get the shape of the ring. Cover those dough rings with the cloth for another ten minutes or so, to rise again.

In the meantime, bring water with a spoon or two of oil to boil. Cook each dough ring in simmering water for maybe forty seconds, two or three at once. Once cooked, they should be placed on a piece of paper towel or cloth, to dry. After that, place them on greased baking sheet and bake in your oven for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. The oven should be preheated.

You might be a little bit surprised with the process of making this dough. Well, sugar and yeast work great together, but salt usually slows down this process. That's why you should wait before adding it in your mixture. This way your dough will rise faster, and you will spend less time making these tasty little treats. Before baking, you can coat the rings with whipped egg whites, and sprinkle them with sesame, seeds, or sugar, to make them more interesting and even tastier. Once done, they can be served with tasty spreads, marmalade, peanut butter or anything else you can think of. Interesting and tasty spreads are easy to prepare as well.

And another thing, you can also replace half of the water with milk, to make your favorite treats even tastier. If you cover them with melted chocolate and sprinkle with ground nuts, they will really become simply irresistible.
